Abstract

The article examines current trends in the development of legal mechanisms aimed at stimulating innovative activity among companies in the energy sector. It also presents proposals for improving legislation and other suggestions for developing effective legal approaches in this area. It was noted that, in order to achieve and ensure technological sovereignty, Russian energy companies must rationally implement innovations based on advanced domestic technologies and developments, modernize their equipment base, and improve production, logistics, and organizational and management processes. It was emphasized that the legal policy of tax preferences and benefits is a powerful incentive mechanism. It is proposed to provide for special tax incentives aimed at stimulating innovative activity in the fuel and energy sector, including by enshrining in tax legislation mechanisms that ensure that energy companies receive significant investment tax deductions for the introduction of Russian technologies, equipment, and software into their production processes, which results in the modernization of production and the replacement of foreign technologies in the Russian fuel and energy sector with domestic developments. It was also noted that a strategy of direct or indirect investment in start-ups can be effectively applied for large domestic energy companies.
